JOSEPH B HAWKINS, JR, MD, FACE
Dr. Hawkins is board certified in Diabetology, Endocrinology, and Metabolism. He is a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology. After completing his training at Duke University Medical Center in 1988, he returned to Fresno where he taught at Valley Medical Center and conducted clinical research. He founded Sierra Endocrine Associates in 1993. Dr. Hawkins has long held a special interest in Osteoporosis and bone metabolism. He has extensive knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of metabolic bone disorders. He is also the leading authority in Osteoporosis in the Central Valley. Most who enter the Sierra Endocrine Associates office notice the many photographs decorating the interior space. Most if not all the photos hanging in the building were taken by Dr. Hawkins who enjoys traveling and hiking and through his photography capturing images of the world. CHARLES MORALES, MSN, NP, CDE
Mr. Morales is an Endocrine Nurse Practitioner and a Certified Diabetes Educator. He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees at California State University, Fresno. He served as the diabetes program coordinator at the University Medical Center in Fresno for ten years, where he managed inpatient and outpatient diabetes, taught physicians and nurses, and conducted clinical research. He joined Sierra Endocrine Associates in 1994. He is a regular lecturer for California State University, Fresno and conducts other professional education. He is a specialist in intensive diabetes management, including insulin pump therapy and pregnancy counseling.
Naseem Eisa, MD
Dr Eisa joined Sierra Endocrine Assocates in 2017 after completing his fellowsip training in Endocrinology at the University of California, Davis.
Chelsea Flowe, MSN, NP
Ms. Flowe joined Sierra Endocrine Associates in 2018. She has over 10 years of experience as and Endocrine Nurse Practitioner. She recieved her graduate degree from California State University, Fresno in 2005. Early in her family practice career . she led classes and support groups for patients with diabetes melitus. She also spent a few years managing cardiac disease states, then permanently moved to care of patients with Endocrine disease states with a focus on management of diabetes mellitus, thyroid conditions, metabolic syndrome, obesity and osteoporosis.. She has been a sub-investigator of research trials involving diabetes mellituys, obeisth, lipid managment, and peripheral arterial disease. She provides expert knowledge of insulion pump and/or continuous goucose sensors for management of diabetes melltus. She aims to provide individulaized education and psychological support unique to each patient she encounters. In he spare time, che cared for her husband and three children. likes jogging and reading.
Sheri Hyatt, MS PA-C
Ms. Hyatt has joined Sierra Endocine Associates in 2019 with over 20 years of family practice experience. She recieved her undergraduate degree at the Univeristy of Arizona in Kinesiology with a minor in Spanish. She recieved her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies at Western University in Southern California. Ms Hyatt also has an extensive background in nutrition, teaching fitness classes, sports medicine and really enjoys looking at the entire patient (which fits wonderfully with the character and culture of Sierra Endocrine Associates). She loves to volunteer providing medical serivces to varous non profits. When Ms Hyatt is not at work she is enjoying her wonderful husband and 3 busy teenagers. She loves to be outside, boating, playing pickle ball, and running. She is involved in her church and loves hosting parties.
Salome Soto, MSN, NP
Ms. Soto joined Sierra Endocrine Assocaiates in 2021. Ms. Soto is a Family Nurse Practitioner with the background in Cardiovascular care. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona and then earned her Master of Science Degree at Chamberlain University in Chicago, Illinois. She holds a National Certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She was an Adjunct Faculty for Fresno City College Nursing Program for over 5 years and worked as Telemetry Registered Nurse for over 12 years. Her experiences as a cardiac nurse have all shaped her practice to work with patients and teach them about maximizing their health. She enjoys taking her 2 Jack Russel Terrier for walks, gardening, and participates in 5K.
